My Parrots - Toys for small Parrots

Toys, Toys Trees and Play-Gym Ideas for small Parrots

There is a lot ideas to make our feather friends keep busy and happy. I buy toys for my fids in a pet-stores, in online bird stores, in the bird fairs (check, when is the nearest bird fair in your area).
I also buy elements to make toys for my birds. There is a lot of ideas, specially for small birds, such as: budgies, finches, cockatiels, conoures, lovebirds etc.

Let's make it show by the pictures!

Birds are still sleeping, they cages are covered. I don't cover them anymore. Over the cages there are two cardboards with a ropes and hanging toys, and that's the place where my Munchkins go nuts!

First from the cage is flying like always Mango (the green budgie). He spend enough time in his previous place all the time in small cage, so he's the first one to use his "freedom"! Coconut is next after him. You can see toys hanging on a cardboard and idea for a unique perch. That perch was combination of cheap bamboo stick and cotton-rope tide around it.

Let's see who is still sleeping...

The "blue flying object", who just woke up and need to join the crew is Blueberra: our female budgie.

Like I mentioned before; some toys came from store, some was done by me. The elements used to create the toys for small parrots was bought online or in craft stores, dollar stores or on local bird fair. You don't have to spend a lot of money, just be creative!

And below is a good example of being creative! Two different toys made by me for my parrots. Plastic spoon with some color elements and bell (most came from dollar store). On the left chain with things I could find in craft-store cheap.

Another example: rope from some sale, and below is hanging a toy: mixed from old, used toy elements, things from craft and dollar store. Behind budgies you can see wrench: now it is favorite place for Chico - our cockatiel. Budgies on the picture (from left): Coconut, Plum and Blueberra.

Birds tree, lately occupied by Chico. Tree came from somebody's back yard and decoration from wherever it was possible.
